"I did not partake in the breakfast as there was a Sukiya 10m from the hotel. Room was clean, spacious, even Ethernet cable was provided for laptops.
You get new water and towels every day which seems like overkill but is appreciated"
"The hotel is very well situated near to the train station and it’s very pretty! The room is a very good size and it was clean! The onsen was also pretty so we had no trouble spending 15 minutes alone in our separate baths (1 for men and another for women). The staff were also extremely friendly and the free sake, plum wine and tea in the evening was a pleasant surprise "
"Easy to find. Just a few minutes away. Come out of the station, walk ahead past the information centre, cross the road and walk straight ahead down the street. Walk past the 7 Bank and turn left. Hotel is on your right. We received such a warm welcome. We stayed 3 nights. The room was a reasonable size and we could put both cases open on the floor. The bed was very comfortable, water was hot and WiFi good. You can have breakfast downstairs for around AUD18. In the same room you can make complimentary tea and coffee during the day/evening. They also have a sauna and jacuzzi which was nice to use after a day of sightseeing. For those looking for a good coffee (almost Melbourne standard) and a smaller breakfast, turn left out of the hotel and immediate left again. Over on the right you will see Hids’ Cafe. We went both mornings. They open at 0630 so you can use even if you have an early train. To sum up, we loved this hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, position is great, walking distance from everything and it is good value. We would definitely stay again."
"The rooms were clean, and the staff was very helpful with regard to shopping for groceries and suggesting places to eat. They even had umbrellas to use in case of rain. Great place to stay."
Hida Takayama Onsen Takayama Green Hotel (KEIO GROUP HOTELS)
10/10 Excellent
"Room was excellent in size and cleanliness. Staff was also very courteous and helpful most of the time. The dining room staff was outstanding. The one major faux pas was that my misplaced her walking cane somewhere in the hotel during our initial check in. We were staying for four
nights but the cane was not found. However, two days later, we received an email indicating they had located the
cane. The message did not indicate where the item was located but we were leaving Japan in two days so that notification was of no consequence. I tried to respond to their message but was not able to do so in English, although the message from the hotel was written in both Japanese and English. "
"Stayed for 2 nights; very comfortable and clear. Nice and quiet for good sleep. Located across from the train and bus station, making it convenient to explore the prefecture."
"It was almost perfect. The towels were very thin and old, and the light switches were very hard to understand. Other than those two tiny things everything else was perfect. Very clean nice and comfortable. "
