Good place to stay for visit to Carlsbad Caverns

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Only disappointment had nothing to do with hotel. Our trip was to go to Carlsbad Caverns and they were closed due to the government shutdown.

Outside corridors were dirty, Room was adequate. Bathroom was marginally adequate and would benefit from a very cleaning. Breakfast was practically non-existent.

Great place to stay for individuals and families.

This is a great place to stay. Child friendly as they have a little water park/pool area for kids. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable; there were plenty of towels for two people and ecofriendly paper products. This motel was right at the entrance of the Carlsbad Caverns which was perfect for us as that was an activity we planned on. The staff was fabulous and very helpful with directions etc. The only thing that could have been better was the outside sidewalks could be cleaned of debris and dead bugs. The upside to that is that the bugs were dead!

A comfortable place to rest your head

Do not expect this place to be the Ritz and DO NOT TRY TO CHECK IN EARLY. It's a comfortable place to rest your head. There are no room phones, and the satellite TV can be a little touchy and the rooms out dated. BUT the beds are comfy, the pool is open until 10 when opened and the proximity to the Caverns can't be beat. Also, DO NOT MISS BREAKFAST AT THE CACTUS CAFE. There food is phenomenal and you get a discount for staying at the Inn

Classic stay for a Classic trip.

The room was clean and all. The staff was great, it’s just an older hotel so don’t expect a new place. It’s the closest thing to the Caverns and if you want an early start, this is the place. Stayed here when I was a kid in the 80s.

The caverns basically at your doorstep.

The hotel is at the perfect location for visiting Carlsbad Caverns, nice Waterpark (slides were closed at this time of year) and a lot of updating has happened. I will say that there is a slight scent of mold/ mildew, which does happen in older buildings, and it did set my allergies off. The staff are wonderful and friendly, and the restaurant next door was delicious.

A decent place to stay.

The room was large and very clean. It's an older building so it's not equipped with jacks to charge your electronics. We brought a night light with usb and electrical outlets on it. Heads up their outlets are tied to the wall switch. So to charge our devices we unplugged the light and left the wall switch on when we plugged in out night light. The TV had HDMI. We were able to watch our recorded shows from YouTube TV. I would stay there again. I didn't give it an excellent rating because the hair dryer didn't work

Convenient place to stay

Rooms are soundproof in comparison to other hotels/motels. Great central location to Guadalupe Peak and Carlsbad. Bring camp stove to cook on and/or electric skillet to cook with, also come prepared with items to cook in microwave. Nearby cafe closes at 3pm and is also closed Sunday and Monday. Town of Carlsbad is about 20 minutes away and shuts down early.

White’s City

This is a good place to stay when visiting Carlsbad Caverns. I was pretty disappointed the pool wasn’t available to use. It’s a really hot area and seeing the pirate area locked up and full of water was really disheartening.

Great location

No restaurants in town and the breakfast did not have any hot food. Overall would stay again for location alone. Great tailed grackles are LOUD in the morning.

Misleading breakfast ad

The location is perfect for when visting the Caverns. The room was clean and big. And so was the bathroom. However the breakfast offered is not good at all. A box of fruit loops and coffee... seriously? I feel that that's more of a corteous snack for those who stay. It shouldnt be labeled as breakfast included. Very misleading when other hotels actually invest in issuing breakfast for their guest.
