10/10 Excellent
"We stayed overnight for a family trip. The room was perfect with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds and pillows were really comfortable. The room was very quiet and we all had a perfect sleep. The breakfast was amazing and catered for all our tastes. Would definitely stay here again. "
"Comfortable room though it took a little while to find a plug socket to use...
Check-in was seamless, friendly staff.
Good breakfast if somewhat limited (no fried egg for example).
Easy to find from the M6."
"We (family of 2 adults + 2 children + dog) had a very comfortable night’s stay in the adjoining family rooms. We were very impressed with the value for money, the rooms were very clean & spacious and the beds were comfortable (single beds were larger than normal!). At first the adjoining door was locked as the booking seemed to be mixed up, but the issue was sorted promptly at reception. We then had a knock on the door by a member of staff the following morning asking if we had booked the second room, but this seemed fine when I assured her we had! The booking on hotels.com is very confusing for the adjoining family rooms, with each room being listed separately but each priced at twice the normal room price (confirming that booking one does indeed book both!). I suspect this issue caused the confusion. Anyway, assuming we are not charged double next time (!), we will definitely book in here again next summer on our way between London & the Highlands & back again. "
"We felt that the hotel offered very good value for money for a short few hour stay on route to our destination.
It is true to say the hotel was full of charcter and one could easily imagine how beautiful it was in its heyday.... however time has clearly taken its toll. It seemed to have a variety of characters staying there.....
Certainly one may feel vulnerable in the sirrounding area.... but the car park was close and included in the cost of the room. We have no complaints whatsoever.
EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY"
"Excellent experience. Ideally placed if you travel up and down the country and very comfortable. Dinner excellent, breakfast too. The sitting room is very relaxed, and there is a resident cat who doesn't bother you at all."
