I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a deeply unsettling and disappointing experience. A male staff member entered my room without knocking, leaving me absolutely petrified. His explanation was that he “thought the room was empty,” which is simply unacceptable. As a lone female traveller, this incident made me feel unsafe for the rest of my stay. Although I was moved to another room, the feeling of discomfort and anxiety didn’t go away.On top of this, I had clearly communicated my allergy requirements prior to arrival. Despite being assured the room had been deep-cleaned, it was thick with dust, and I was given a feather quilt even though I had pre-requested anti-allergy bedding. I constantly had to remind the concierge and follow up on emails, which was draining and added to the overall negative experience. Lily tried to be helpful, but there was ongoing miscommunication and delayed responses. Junior was also helpful when present. There were some positives. Jeff in the restaurant was wonderful, and the complimentary breakfast was excellent. However, some staff at the coffee and Danish station appeared disengaged and frosty.
Overall, I will not be staying here again. The combination of a staff member entering my room without knocking, poor communication from management, and the failure to action my allergy requests appropriately made this stay far below acceptable standards.
