First time of staying at a Marston's, couldn't fault the accommodation, check in was good the room was excellent, clean and well equipped would most definitely stay again.
Across the car park was the bar and restaurant which was very well presented and staffed by very pleasant staff, the food however left a lot to be desired, I ordered fish and chips with mushy peas, upon receiving it I should have returned it but I had been travelling all day and was so tired I couldn't be bothered as I just wanted to sleep. The mushy peas were so dry they had left the sides of the ramakin, chips weren't to bad finally the fish! It was so contorted it made an arch on my plate I picked it up at one end and it left the plate like a piece of cardboard, I've never experienced a piece of fish like it.
What was very self evident was how quiet the place was for a Friday night, serving food as was served to me is the reason. Come on guys, look at what you're serving and ask yourself "is this good enough"
