10/10 Exceptional

A great stay with excellent local amenities such as cinema, beer abd food hall, duck bowling and walks.

8/10 Very good

One night stay before a wedding in Clitheroe.

Nice hotel. Parking difficult. The reception staff were excellent; the breakfast staff not so good! The staff at the Bowland Brewery were lovely and very friendly - not sure if this is part of the hotel! The room was spacious, but disappointed that they do not offer twin rooms, apparently all rooms are double beds! No air conditioning, one small window that opens, but the hotel recommend to leave blinds closed and curtains shut if the window is open, due to flies from the river. Hence the room was sweltering. No fan offered. Overall though, nice hotel.

nice stay, nice room, reception pleasant and helpful, no problem checking in. ate at the Bistro food was lovely. only negative one small towel radiator in very large bathroom made the bathroom a bit cold for February. otherwise no complaints at all nice room.

Stayed here prior to a friend’s wedding. Very quaint little hotel in a cute little town. Walking distance to the train station, a grocery store, a food and beer hall, Clitheroe Castle, and the main shopping street!

I have stayed here multiple times and every time it exceeds my expectations! It has a beautiful rustic decor and maintains the charm of the original building, it’s a really quirky place to stay! The only thing I will say is that I’m not a fan of paying to park however, the hotel is definitely reasonably priced for the standard of room! I look forward to staying again many more times in the future

The hotel was clean and ready for us when we arrived, the room was well equipped. We chose to dine in the hotel restaurant, the food was excellent but pricey.

Nice hotel, a few small issues to improve

A lovely development in centre of town. Evening staff in Reception and Bar/Bistra were excellent - friendly and professional. Spacious room, large bathroom with huge shower. Morning Reception staff less friendly - I wanted to make a few positive suggestions (pillows too soft, lack of info re breakfast, gap under door) but ironically she was not 'receptive' to first one (my fault for not reading booking info apparently) so I didn't bother......

2/10 Poor

Unfortunately, my stay at 1823 Spinning Block was far from the relaxing experience I’d hoped for. Despite paying for car parking on arrival, I still received a parking ticket—which was a frustrating! The room itself was disappointing. The only source of heat was a bathroom radiator that stayed on from 3pm to 10am, making the entire space unbearably hot overnight. With signs warning guests not to open the windows due to midges, it became a very uncomfortable night’s sleep. To make matters worse, the view from the room overlooked a back alley where dogs were regularly doing their business—hardly the "charming" outlook you'd expect from a hotel in this price range. Perhaps the most disruptive part of the stay was the wedding party hosted on the floor directly above. From 9pm until 2:30am, children were running up and down the corridors, and with no phone in the room to contact reception, there was no way to raise the issue without physically going down in person, when I did reception was unmanned. On checkin the receptionist wanted a card for damages, I offered my AMEX card that I used for the booking but she told me they didnt accept that, so I reluctantly used a debit card. Disappointing across the board. A hotel with potential, but unfortunately, the basics—comfort, peace, and guest support—were severely lacking.

Great place for a break

Beautiful, spacious and comfortable room, great shower (and toiletries!) - just what we wanted for some proper R&R. The breakfast was excellent and was served in a really attractive room. Had a beer hall with dozens of draught beers next door! And the staff were very friendly and helpful.

A1 - Would highly recommend

Loved it, lady in reception was bubbly, friendly and welcoming. She was also helpful and advised me of important information. Room was lovely, clean, tidy, spacious and comfortable. It was an added bonus to have a fantastic brewery/bar next door, and all the local amenities you need. I will be back for business and pleasure, thats for sure.

Wished we’d stayed for longer.

A lovely hotel in a great central location. Easy walking distance to the local town and right next to a local brewery. We just wished we’d booked for more than 1 night.

Great hotel with everything you need on site. The Holmes Mill beer hall and food hall are excellent with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Short walk the the town which has lots of options for eating and drinking too

Siempre regreso

La experiencia es siempre genial, ya que me he hospedado allí varias veces. Lo único que entra demasiado luz y no hay manera de dejar la habitación 100% a oscuras
