The Dormy Inn is a great hotel with a lovely onsen and some special extras like ramen soup late ant night and ice creams to have after your onsen. The staff were very friendly and although the rooms are small they were clean. Breakfast had a good variety but mainly Japanese dishes.

This was my first stay at a Dormy Inn, and I will certainly consider them again if there's one where I'm staying in Japan. The twin room was very spacious for the price. The onsen/bath on-site was always clean, though be conscious of the posted "busy times". Complimentary ice cream or yogurt was a nice plus. Staff at the desk were very helpful and were willing to use translate apps to navigate language barriers. Location is very close to Nagano Station and a convenience store.

The Dormy Inn in Nagano was an excellent value! The location is first rate - less than 10 minutes walking from Nagano Station. The Inn has wonderful amenities - an indoor/outdoor onsen. After onsen free ice cream snacks. A very tasty breakfast including Japanese and western cuisine - the quality and variety was great and the price was reasonable. They also have chilled apple juice during the day and made to order ramen in the evening. If you miss the ramen, they will give you a Cup-of-Noodles. The room was typical for Japanese hotel rooms but efficiently laid out. The location was on a quiet side street but had many restaurants and shops close by. Zenkoji temple is only 1.5K away (you can walk it) Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again

Room inconsistent with description

First negative experience in Dormy Inn ever, and I've stayed in a lot of them. Despite asking for a quiet room I was given the room closest to the elevator, on the lowest (2nd) floor, and the window was almost fully tinted because it was facing a wall and A/Cs. Not at all like the description & not worth the money for such a room. Maybe because I'm a foreigner I was given the worst room in the hotel -- if so that's no excuse... Very close to the station & restaurants, so location is good, but maybe pick another hotel if you fancy a window.

Frustrating as booked a non cancellable room and asked to move from sat/sun to sun/mon if possible. Understand it was my fault for not paying for a refundable room but they ignored hotels.com for a week before I gave up. Would prefer a negative response to nothing! Staff on reception are very helpful though once we arrived…. Onsen lovely and noodles at 9.30 welcome after a long day!

Whilst the hotel room and bed were a little on the small side (to be expected in Japan), the facilities and service the hotel provided were excellent. The onsen is lovely with free ice creams or probiotic drinks available afterwards; laundry machine is free to use (tumble dryer is 100¥ for 20mins) and there’s free ramen available in the evening. Location is excellent for the train station
