We did not expect how rustic the room would be and it did not look at all like the advertised “Cabin Room”. We did not meet any staff at the inn itself. We had to drive into town to the sister inn for breakfast. (Not far) No tv is provided. Location was quiet but we were a bit uncomfortable knowing the door stays unlocked and no staff on the premises.

Quaint Inn but very few amenities. “Free breakfast” was off site and not within walking distance. In fact, it is not on a road that is safe to walk anywhere. Quiet, but expect squeaky floors and doors and no sound proofing—this is a very old house. Part of the reason for our low rating is we never saw one person to check us in or out or even check on the property. There was no way to refrigerate food we were traveling with. We didn’t expect a TV but there was no blow dryer either or ironing board and no one to ask about these things being available. Lastly they left you key and welcome instruction on a table with your name on it out with other guests’ papers and keys which doesn’t protect our privacy but more importantly they give you a code to get in the entrance but then ask that you never lock that door. So basically the entrance is always unlocked 24/7. In today’s age of cell phones, it seems like there’s a way to contact guests arriving late with the door code so that other guests can lock the entrance at night especially when NO ONE is there on site managing it.

Fabulous stay in a delightful quirky venue. The host was welcoming and helpful. He provided an excellent breakfast including plenty of delicious gluten-free options for me as a coeliac. The room was great and the communal spaces had really interesting decor and provided friendly places to meet other guests. The beautiful outdoor spaces were also a bonus in the great weather.
