Lovely Inn in New Brunswick

Parking was good. Restaurant for breakfast was very nice, atmosphere was super-a bit slow for service, but food was simple and freshly made. Our room was very comfortable and clean.

We had a lovely dinner in the Inns Dining Room and the food was delicious!! Breakfast was the same! Our room was quiet and very relaxing

Nice hotel, quite dated but was very clean. Great dinner in the restaurant. Room was small, a bit cramped, with minimal extras. No coffee maker in the room and dolls all over the place, kinda creepy. Cleaning staff was exceptional, very accommodating.

Stayed at the Marshlands for nostalgia’s sake. Very old inn but such character!! The staff especially Gail was a treasure. Sooo helpful and helpful. We were in Sackville for our 50th Mt.Allison Alumni reunion and staying at the Marshlands was the icing on the cake.

Fabulous Food,in a unique setting with history.

This is an old inn, with its own quirks, but that is why you want to visit such a place. There is ample common area if you wish to get out of your room. The grounds are large and intriguing. It is close to a marsh area with raised walkways. Birders delight. The owners were a pleasure One thing that stood out as exceptional was dinner. The owner cooked a marvellous meal, in the most elegant setting. If nothing else, go there for the meal. Better still book a couple of nights, walk around the town, or make it a base for local sightseeing. And book dinner.

The owner and staff were warm and friendly, the inn charming and the meals superlative, with seafood crepes stuffed with mussels, scallops and shrimps in a creamy sauce and a breakfast of freshly prepared fruit and homemade bread and homemade jam.

Staying here was a treat to experience the splendour of a historic luxury inn conveniently located in downtown area.Unique rooms decorated with lovely antiques throughout the home. Breakfast is extra but in a beautiful dining room.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Marshlands Inn. It has the feel of a quirky BnB, a very unique and historic experience! I enjoyed conversations with the host, walks in the lovely garden, and how close in walking distance the downtown of Sackville. I will visit again.

Nice room, clean and classy. Loud at night though, noises from the street and from within.

Furnishings are beautiful antiques and dinner served in the elegant dining room was excellent, served by a friendly, cheerful, polite waitress.
Susan, 1-night trip

The bathroom in our suite was cramped and dark. The meals - dinner and breakfast - were very tasty.

The stay here was not just a place to sleep, it was an experience. The history that they have kept alive was very awesome. The dinner was one of the best we have experienced in a very long time and at a very fair prices. It was also one of the best values in the maritimes that we experienced.

It was very unique place! The house was filled with history! If staying for dinner expect large quantities!

4/10 Fair

It’s close to downtown Sackville and the Mount Allison campus, so the location is perfect and really lovely. Staff were nice, though spread pretty thin. Not sure who did the cooking in the dining room. If you love antiques and a truly historic atmosphere, you’ll enjoy it here. Just note: there are quite a few decorative dolls around, so if that gives you nightmares, keep it in mind! For the price point, some updates would make a big difference: • Address what appears to be roof leaks and any mold remediation (smells bad and other reviewers commented on asthma flare-ups). • Replace old, separate hot/cold taps with modern, functional faucets and showers (who takes baths anymore?!?). • Add a simple coffee station for guests preferably in rooms - make space by tossing out all the knick knacks. • Remove fragile décor, old smelly books, dust collectors, and especially the DOLLS. • Swap out heavy, dusty coverlets and shams for washable duvet covers. • Deep clean thoroughly and update window coverings. • Gut and refresh bathrooms while keeping the historic charm. The antique furniture is beautiful and worth saving, but most of the soft furnishings and extras need to go—or be burned. Beds are pretty comfy though! In its current state, I would not stay here again if there are options between Moncton and Amherst.

Lovely historic property, close to lovely conservation area for walking. Beautiful dining room, well maintained. Helpful friendly staff. Eclectic collection of artifacts. External building and grounds could use some work.

This is an old property, very Victorian, beautifully maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the kitchen is excellent. The experience here is rather unique. No high-rise luxury hotel can hope to match the atmosphere of the Marshlands.
