My stay at Steam Pier Adventure was excellent. I was traveling solo for work in Tromsø, but it would also be a fantastic place to bring my family. While it is not overly fancy, it is very well appointed, clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. It had everything I needed and made for a really enjoyable stay.

We stayed in the Aurora hut #1. We knew it would be small, but we were surprised to find that there was no shower and only a camping style toilet. Otherwise, the hut itself is very modern, the bed was very comfortable and the heat worked great.

Stayed in Wolf which is a perfect room if you want to be disturbed through the night by the loud banging of doors associated with your local travel
Lodge. Poorly lit rooms and luke warm water are also a feature, with no milk for coffee nor access to a restaurant for breakfast or dinner. That being said, views of the natural and surrounding landscape were phenomenal, and one of the comfiest beds I’ve had the pleasure to sleep in. An amazing wood fire sauna to warm up in on the morning of departure, however it defiantly wasn’t worth the extortionate price per night to stay.

Pros: Amazing views. Clean and comfortable. Bed was super comfy. Modern decor and all kitchen supplies provided. Helpful and kind staff. Our room had the most amazing wool blanket provided!!
Cons: we stayed in seafront 4, there was no hot water for the shower. Sinks had super hot water but shower was barely warm. There is no place in the shower to put your toiletries. No shelf or anything. We stayed 5 nights and had been told there was laundry onsite, however there was not. No tv in the room. We had an extended stay and would have liked to have watched the Olympics from our room.
Beautiful location, but it is about 15 to 20 minutes from the city center and a taxi one-way will cost you approximately $50. There is a bus line that runs in front of the hotel however, during our stay, it was snowing heavily so we opted not to use the bus. Not a lot of food options close by, but we did get delivery from a local pizza place.

Personal was very polite, although be aware that if you have a late check-in you should let them know in advance. The hotel is located in a wonderful place in Kvaløya. It is very close to Tromso and just 15 min away from the airport with the bus. From the hotel you can reach the beautiful Ersfjord in 13 min with the bus as well. So even if you are not renting a car, you can access many places from the hotel. I had the wonderful luck to stay there in my last two days in tromso and the Auroras we saw were breathtaking, and we could just simply leave our room and enjoy the view with less light pollution than in Tromso city. I would definitely repeat the experience. Plus they also organize Aurora and fjords tours with professional and very friendly competent guides.
