The island is amazing for a few days away. A little makeover of the rooms and some comfortable bedding would make Fitzroy Island Resort a must do destination. Staff are brilliant.

Easy snorkelling off the front beach. Comfortable bed and quiet resort at night. Reception staff super helpful and lovely. Restaurant dining, especially dinner, was excellent quality. Average coffee. Restaurant staff didn’t have great customer service.

Great stay for a couple of days, accommodation needs some updating (parts of the room were falling apart ie. broken tiles, sharp grout and dripping aircon). Some staff were amazing and some were very abrupt and unhelpful. The guided kayak tour was great, Sara was super lovely and just a really relaxing way to hang out on the way. Pool area is small and limited seating but drinks at the pool were great. Foxy’s has ok food but prices are pretty high, live music on a Saturday night is a good vibe. Overall a good short stay if you’re looking to just relax, snorkel and get away from winter.

Overall, the place was beautiful. Our room was mediocre - didn't realize we had reserved one without windows. The snorkeling was great across from the turtle center. Nudey beach is beautiful but the snorkeling there is not nearly as good.

Everything was well managed. The snorkelling was great with a good variety of fish and corals. We were able to swim with the turtles too. I am 77 and had no problem with any aspect of this experience. We also went to Green Island and I preferred Fitzroy.

Stayed in the two-bedroom apartment,.The apartment it self was amazing overlooking welcome bay, it was bright and clean the connecting studio was as expected quite dark with only one window overlooking the walkway at the back of the property. After reading the reviews we did bring our own food over however the quality of food at both restaurants was really good. The staff were all lovely and helpful and the island is amazing, got to see lots of turtles.

The one bedroom apartment we paid good money for was uncleanly. Our dinner reservation wasn’t fulfilled even when booked hours ahead of time. Beds were uncomfortable.

If stay in ground floor units you hear all the footsteps of guests that stay on the top floors. That happens all day long. Rooms are not thoroughly cleaned. There are a lot of mosquitoes in the resort. If you open your sliding doors, you will wake up with a lot of mosquitoes bites. The best area is nudey beach.

The Island itself was picturesque. The lack of information, room, food was discraceful. I have written my concerns directly to the Manager on Fitzroy Is. Parking in Cairns is limited to 10 hours a day paid there was no one who could let me know where i could camp overnight to stay out on the island. I would have only done a day trip or not at all if i knew that you did not offer ant parking for YOUR customers. The fines i received should fall onto your company responsibilities $ 74.00 per day x 2 days, nights totaled $148.00 , if any of you decide to go out to Fitzroy island, note you will have to factor in parking fines, of up to $90.00 others got fined. Not a good look Fitzroy, for anyone.

There is only one resort on this island so it’s quiet nice however a lot of ships are coming with tourists during the day so some beaches are crowd. We did not like the service Maintenance we asked for 2 plates and knifes waited 3 hours no response Needed to call again Diving shop There are Hugh lines when are you coming around 3 pm no pools towels They send to reception deck. They have people for check in. Need to wait again. 2 persons are servicing one couple, asked for towel they pretended to be busy. Restaurant Working hours for breakfast 9-11 am. We and other couple arrived at 10 am, they said no more reservation despite on a lot of tables were vacant.

The location is stunning - the resort is badly designed the pool lounges face a wall rather than looking out over the ocean, no change room near the pool or beach, the smaller rooms face dark corridors, the resort shop is grungy the room decor not tropical at all. The restaurant staff were great and food reasonable but They had run out if half the menu items, signage around the resort was laminated photocopies sticky taped up - very tacky- there are lots of weeds from the resort gardens escaping into the surrounding rainforest. oh and the piped music is terrible - kiss and ACDC

Booked 2 King studios. Terrible location, back of complex, only window looking out back onto walkway used by everyone so you needed to close blinds for privacy so no natural light and as walkway used by everyone constant noice. I booked 2 studios, but if I'd realised they were so bad, i would have happily spent extra to get a 2 bedroom room. So as far as the resort goes, it was bad. Maybe we were punished for using a booking agent. Went to Foxys for cocktails, told not enough staff to make them so headed to Zephrys but couldn't order a cocktail until we went thru the process of booking a table, then waiting 5 minutes for a staff member to take our order, then waiting 25 minutes for our order not to arrive, to be told a mix-up had occurred with order. Told them to cancel order, which was agreed, and moved to Roxy's. All good but had to fight on check out to stop payment for cocktails being charged for drinks never received. Went to Roxys and ordered dinner. Brother in Law ordered Burger before me. Advised him they took Frozen Burgers from freezer and dropped in deep frier. Thought a little amusing but when burger arrived it was so burned black. Urged him to return but he said no, at end of meal confirmed terrible, other meals okay...dont buy the burger. So if you stay at Fitzroy resort don't use king studios, rooms 102 & 104 worst ever.
