Great base for Billund's attractions

Refborg is well located on the edge of town within easy walking distance of all attractions. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the room and spaces available for guests were well appointed. Breakfast was a buffet style with cereals, yoghurt, fruit, pastries, breads, meats and cheeses, and hot scrambled eggs and bacon - all regularly restocked.

A smaller cosy hotel within walking distanse to Legoland (1,5km). Friendly staff both in house keeping, breakfast and reception. The soaps and body cream from Karameju are great! Great family room (DBL bed + pull out sofa) + large bathroom (room 25). Their "gift shop" is like a small boutique delicacy with lots of nice brands and products. Second time staying here, would come again.

Absolutely exceptional customer service, beautifully clean and fabulous breakfast. The staff were so lovely and helpful and we would highly recommend for convenience to Lego house and the best bakery (Billund Bakery) I have ever tried! For a family and anyone who wants to explore danish hospitality this is a perfect stay.

Very convenient location, there is a stop for the Shuttle bus just out the front, a supermarket just over the road, and the Lego house and some restaurants only a little further. We had food at the hotel one of the nights and it was really good quality, a little more expensive than what we are used to in the UK, but in line with prices in the region, given the quality it was definitely worth it. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. If we come back to Billund (which is highly likely, we had such a great time) I'd definitely consider this hotel again.

I very much enjoyed the hotel. The staff were so nice and helpful. The rooms were large enough for 4 people, comfortable and nice. We were also within walking distance from all the attractions and shopping. There was plenty of parking as well. The breakfast was included and excellent! Best breakfast I have had. We also ate at the hotel for dinner and it was delicious. I would go there just for the restaurant!

We had a family room for 4 booked for 2 nights, as we were only visiting LEGO house but the room was too small for 4 people, and it felt very claustrophobic! There was a bit of mould and dust by the windows too. Breakfast was good enough, and the staff helped us book a taxi to Vejle train station. Overall, not a bad place to stay but only for a short visit.

Delightful historic property (oldest building in Billund) with an excellent location in the middle of town. Comfortable bedding. They accommodated our need for a third bed for our son. The included breakfast had excellent variety, food quality, and cleanliness. Unfortunately, the shower leaked water on to the bathroom floor - floor had no slope to the drain. Bathroom had no places to hang things. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Make Billund a day trip unless you like hard beds

I am shocked how many rave reviews this hotel has gotten. I chose it because of them. Maybe their room was different than ours. The worst sleep I have ever had I. A hotel. Hard and lumpy- - like camping - on a cot. The bathroom flooded and was patched up so much it looked awful and felt awful under your feet. Again like a campground bathroom not an expensive hotel. This was an expensive stay and the room was rundown, stuff falling apart. It was awful especially for the price. So disappointed. Breakfast wasn’t anything special and the coffee was terrible. Stayed at a hotel Skt Annæ in Copenhagen just $30 more a night and the amenities were incredible. Refborg needs a major remodel and new beds. Very little water pressure to the shower and the stairs are dangerous. Spiral that is very thin. It’s a terrible accident waiting to happen. I have traveled all over Europe and even in post Soviet Czech Republic the rooms/beds/showers were better. It was close to Lego House and the people when I saw them were very nice. Lego Corp need to buy that place and restore it completely. It was the best rated out of the town which leads me to say, stay a night and then find another town - like Copenhagen. Make Billund a day trip. Again the people were fine and it was as clean as it could be just worn down

Worst hotel ever?

the condition of the room was really bad, especially the bathroom. dirty, worn, smelly and even mouldy. The temperature in the room was around 35 degrees Celsius so there wasn't much sleep. no AC or other functioning ventilation. the staff was nice and the breakfast was ok... BUT the room cost around 3000 SEK per night... For that money you can stay in a five-star hotel in any European capital. Worst hotel stay ever...

I loved the friendliness of staff. Food was terrific. Both on breakfast and restaurant. Everything was clean and hotel was very quiet. Very child-friendly. Lego House is in short walking distance. Legoland about 1.2km away. Right next door is a grocery store and a pizzeria / restaurant. Hotelrooms was small/cozy. And no airconditioning. So during hotter days the rooms might get hot, we were lucky to have cool days. But the humidity takes a while to disappear even with windows open. Bathroom floor has no incline for water to drain, which lends to issue with humidity. Am not complaining since we had great time, but this might be a dealbreaker to some. Would revisit

This is a small hotel, with a cozy, homelike atmosphere. Yet it also houses a small, upscale restaurant which serves local, Danish dishes which are exquisite. My stay was 2 1/2 weeks, in a double room. Though I was staying alone, this size room suited me well, as it had separated sleeping, living, & bathroom areas, with two large windows, three adjustable radiators, a couch, desk, chairs, plenty of pillows and comforters, good lighting, a small TV, a dresser of drawers, an electric tea kettle with a selection of teas, organic instant coffee, hot cocoa, and ceramic cups. There were plenty of outlets for whatever I needed to charge, and a hair dryer. The hot water is plenty hot, with great water pressure! The windows open for fresh air, radiators can be dialed into whatever warmth level you need. Double bed is two twins put together, which is standard in Danish hotels. Included breakfast is a lovely daily spread with strong, hot coffee, every milk or juice you could want, bacon, eggs, selection of meats, fruits, vegetables, fresh rolls, bread, danishes, yogurt, cereals, jams, butter, cheese, teas, hard boiled eggs, served for 4 hours in the restaurant area where you can sit next to a sunny window. The staff are so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dinner can be brought to your room. And there is help with carrying your luggage upstairs. Lovely & winding, the stairway is the only option for going up. Plan accordingly. I look forward to my next stay at the Refborg!

Trevligt hotell centralt i billund. En enkel frukost. Saknade grönsaker och pannkakor. Rummen var rymliga, dock så bodde det silverfisk i lampan i badrummet (flera stycken) det kändes inte helt fräscht.

Vi tilbragte 2 nætter på Hotel Refborg i familieværelse med 2 voksne og 2 børn. Værelset var ikke så stort men fungerede fint, med køjeseng og en dobbeltseng. Børnene var fint tilfredse med køjerne, dobbeltsengen var ok. Morgenmaden var rigtig fin og personalet var flinke og venlige. Vi havde fået et værelse uden køjer da vi ankom og receptionen er ikke døgnbemandet. det lykkedes dog at få fat i dem telefonisk omend der var temmelig lang ventetid, da vi endelig kom igennem var de rimelig hurtige til at komme og værelsessituationen blev løst tilfredsstillende. Alt i alt et fint ophold og beliggenheden var helt perfekt til vores besøg i LEGO House.
