Our first stay with the Doubletree brand and a very impressive one it was too.
From arrival to departure, the quality of the communal areas, rooms and service was apparent.
We were intending to drop our cases before the allocated check-in time but were informed our room was ready and were happy to leave reception with our key and a cookie each!
The rooms are well designed and everything is well thought out, including iron and board stowed in the lit wardrobe alongside a safe, should it be needed. The bed is super comfy without being too soft and the bathroom is spotlessly clean with a simple, efficient shower. All room amenities are present, including a fridge with 2 bottles of cold water ready for us.
Our breakfast was very good. In fact, the service we received was about the best we have encountered at any hotel, ever. Decaff options were arranged from the bar by our 'section service assistant' as was a bespoke breakfast for one of our party with GF requirements. Top marks all round and the food was excellent too.
It's easy to get carried away with reviews and recency bias is always present when writing these things but our stay at Doubletree Granary Wharf was very, very good. The hotel is flawless and the staff deserve a huge mention because they are clearly operating at a very high level - well done folks!
It is going to be interesting to see if this is what is to be expected at every Doubletree hotel.
