8/10 Very good

Adequate for my needs

Room was simple and clean; I just needed a comfortable bed for each night. Parking was accessible and adequate, no problems.

Nice place I’d stay there again and affordable.

Owner is very nice. They are working very hard fixing the place up! Room and grounds very clean. Older motel but updates make it comfortable. Being able to park right in front of your door is very convenient! Will stay here again!
Barbara, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

It was a nice motel for it being a motel.
Emma, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The towels were too thin and small. Bed cover too thin. The bed cover was not warm enough for 40 degree weather.I had to sleep with a warm up jacket over my flannel pajamas.
Henry, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Property was clean but the bathtub needed upgrades. Bed was hard and really noisy.
Travis, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lack of any services but for the price it was a great place to stay. Would definitely stay again.

Old “motor hotel” but sufficient for an inexpensive one night stay.

Fun music weekend

Great place - was in for a music concert at a brewery very close by - perfect for our needs but will stay everytime we come to Black Mountain

older place but clean and safe

Excellent choice for a good night's sleep!

This was a great place to stay for the night so that we could wake up where we wanted to be for the day. The hotel was completely clean and comfortable, and we got a good night's rest. We felt safe and secue. I don't think I would stay here for a long vacation, as it really doesn't have any amenities. BUT, since we only planned to arrive late at night and leave early in the morning, it was great! If you're looking to arrive at Biltmore when then open, this is a great place to stay! Affordable price. Right in the middle of downtown Black Mountain - a charming town.

8/10 Very good

Perfect for our 2 night stay. Nothing fancy…clean and safe. Less than a mile walk to downtown. Great breakfast across the street. Allows dogs and has a nice grassy area outside of our door. We would definitely visit again.

This has been my regular place to stay since I have been traveling here for work. The rooms have been recently refurbished and always clean. Black Mountain is a cool small mountain community town with nice shops and restaurants to visit. Asheville is only about 15 minutes away making it well worth it as a place to stay.

Good value and nice stay

It was an economical one night stay. All was ready and nice. Area rugs on the inside would make it better. Gods value and nice stay

Location & Price, I’ve stayed here a few times. Parking in front of room excellent. Lobby/check in would have been improved by multiple boxes stacked in corner being removed. Llack of tv guide in room frustrating. Gnats in sink area disappointing.

Vintage bathtub and fixtures. Nothing fancy, like going back in time, but clean, quiet, and safe.

Christina, 1-night trip

Clean and neat

It was only an overnight stay, and the room was a bit spartan. However, it was quite clean and everything worked well. One a very minor problem, as noted by others, is that the toilet required a long flush or multiple flushes. My problem is that I forgot to ask for additional towels. I checked in at night and by the time I noticed that I need extra towels, I didn't think anyone would be around who could fulfill that request.
Elaine, 1-night trip

The owner is renovating the property. Our room had not yet been renovated, But it was reasonably clean. Owner was very responsive and provided for all the items we requested.
Gaye, 4-night trip

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I'm a travel nurse and The Acorn has become my regular place to stay when it has available rooms. The price is very affordable in comparison to the other establishments with the "Asheville tourist" based room prices. Although it is not in Asheville, it's still really not that long of a drive and quite convenient for my needs. I'll continue to stay here until my contract is done and it continues to be a good financial decision!
