The hotel is well located (at least for us who planned several day trips from St. Louis and didn't need to be right downtown). We also found the rooms spacious.
Unfortunately, it is not well maintained and quite filthy. The first room we checked into had wet towels, missing furniture, dirty dishes, no soap, and a beeping smoke alarm. We had to change rooms, although the second one wasn't much better. The dishes were absolutely filthy (see photo) and when we notified the desk, the replacement dishes they gave us were just as dirty and encrusted with food. The sheets had what appeared to be blood stains (see photo). The smoke alarm at least wasn't beeping...because it was disconnected and hanging from the ceiling. The breakfast was minimal at best and on the last day they didn't have any oatmeal or bread left (and this was an hour before it should have finished). I know hotel breakfasts are often minimal, but this one was particularly scarce.
The hotel itself is in need of a lot of updates and basic cleaning. There was a sign at the front desk saying that the Hilton had disowned the hotel and that they weren't responsible for any reservations made with them. It is obvious why the Hilton disowned it as it is in serious need of repairs.
While the location itself is good, the direct environment is quite sketchy. We saw drug use nearly every time we went to our car in the parking lot and the folks hanging around (not sure if they were even guests) didn't inspire feeling safe.
