Cozy Lodge with Stunning Views and a Rich History
We stayed in the #1 McGee Canyon room at McGee Creek Lodge, and it was such an amazing experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful rustic-modern touches that made it feel both cozy and stylish. I especially loved the cute electric fireplace and the fact that all the furniture was so comfortableโit was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Our medium dogโs crate fit perfectly in the room, and the ground-floor access made it super easy to take her on walks outside. Plus, the views from the windows were absolutely breathtaking.
Beyond the comfort of the room, thereโs something truly special about this lodge. Itโs not just a beautiful place to stayโit has a story.
The lodge itself was built in 1929 by State Senator Karl Keough, and you can feel that history when youโre there. Itโs incredible to think of all the people who have passed through this spot over the years, from pioneer families to travelers seeking the same peace and beauty that we enjoyed.
The staff here are wonderfulโsuper friendly and warm, which made the stay even better. Itโs clear they care about this place and the people who visit.
The location was great for usโitโs just a short drive to Mammoth Village and Bishop, where youโll find plenty of dining and shopping options
Iโll definitely be coming back.
