Shocking Hotel stay
Not the best start, we arrived Friday and the reception charged me nearly the same price for my room as the price for 2 that was booked even though I showed confirmation. One room the door wouldnโt lock and could be pushed open without using key, when questioned at reception I was told to wait and someone would see me, half hour later we eventually had to the explain again to someone about the door not closing, after a time we asked to be given another room only to be told there wasnโt one and when I said I wanted a refund and I would go somewhere else miraculously they found a new room.
Staff are not friendly also in the bar we got a drink and the service was terrible with our glasses and bottles being slammed on the bar. No smiles either civility doesnโt cost anything.
For a stay that should have cost ยฃ300. they tried to charge ยฃ364. Hotels.com please be aware they are blaming you for sending the wrong prices to them, I eventually got my money back from them.
Also breakfast was a shambles, food not hot and looked like it wasnโt cooked properly, today we waited for 20 mins to even be seen to let them know we arrived, eventually we walked out and went to the local Tesco cafe for a well cooked and hot breakfast.
Overall I think this hotel needs a massive shake up and staff need to be retrained to treat people with respect and I and all of my friends will definitely never stay there again.
If I could give less than 1 star I would.
Never ever ever will I stay there.

Needs redecorating
My partner & I booked a double room, but on arrival were given a twin as no double rooms were available, after 1 night, we saw water dripping from the light in the bathroom & a big lump of human poo on the shower curtain, even though the cleaner had just left our room & failed to notice this, the head cleaner happened to knock on our door to check it had been cleaned shortly after, she was very apologetic, helpful & moved us to a double room immediately, the hotel is definitely overdue for redecorating

Wrong info on booking site
Got to hotel early so knew we couldnโt check in but thought we would go to restaurant and have coffee and sandwich, as we hadnโt eaten at all and travelled several hours. No restaurant open we was told it didnโt open until 5pm. Had to travel into town to find somewhere. Anyhow when we returned turned out bar opened at 3.30. No one on reception seemed to know whatโs what. We returned to hotel in the evening expecting a night cap in the bar to find it shut at 10.30pm. Other than that bed comfy

Harlow hotel
Hotel rooms need updating. Aid con was broken. Whole hotel got woken up at 6.30 am due to broken fire alarm. Hotel staff are fully aware that the alarm is faulty.

Basic but clean
This is a basic hotel, suitable for an overnight stay. The hotel itself is dated and general signs of wear and tear can be seen. Beds were okay, got a decent night sleep.
Positives: They provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash. The room had air con which is a plus in the summer. Plugs by the bed which is helpful as someone with sleep apnea. Good selection of tea and coffee.
Downsides: our room was a decent walk due to the set up of the building. Corridor smelt of illegal substances. The person who checked us in wasnโt very welcoming, didnโt give us a good feel of the place on arrival. When we opened the curtains all the way in the morning, there was a pair of someone elseโs socks with mould growing, I did inform reception though and felt like they would have passed it on to housekeeping.

Long check in process. Clean rooms.
I don't like that they now ask you to fill out a customer details form at the check in desk. This information could be requested before your stay, or not at all since you have the info on the booking.
I've always enjoyed the nice toiletries and clean fluffy towels at this hotel. The room condition is hit and miss. Some are well maintained, others not at all.

Not a good experience
When this was booked through yourselves the confirmation stated that breakfast was included. we booked into the hotel and was told that we had to pay ยฃ12.00 pp per morning for the breakfast and also ยฃ6.00 per night for the parking. The receptionist was not very good and the hotel did not look like it did in the photos. It had been a long day and what with the heat I did not think about the breakfast until the next morning. I spoke to the receptionist and showed her the confirmation and she said is was not on her screen. We asked for a refund which was reluctanlty given and we went for breakfast elsewhere. We had gone into the bar the Friday night and ordered a vodka and coke to be told that they had no vodka. The bar person was not very good and seemed like he had other things on his mind. The hotel as a whole needs updating. The bathroom was basic and there was rust around the bathroom tap and in some places the paint was peeling, the toilet roll holder was non exisitant and just placed on the side and the bed and pillows were not very comfortable. I will not be staying at this hotel again

Hard uncomfortable beds no sleep
Receptionist was very friendly.. Then asked to pay for parking?? First I knew of it.
Cracks on the bathroom floor but the worst thing was the hard uncomfortable bed. Hardly slept!
Food was good and big potions. Would not stay again.

When we arrived we were told the twin room we booked wasnโt available. We were given a room that had multiple maintenance issues and was dirty with some dirty socks left on the floor. I reported all issues but nobody from the hotel has bothered to contact me yet.

The disabled parking seems to be enforced now by the signs which is a positive since the last visit
Upon check ln the staff were very rude and failed to communicate properly. The girl put a piece of paper on the desk and said to fill it in but wouldnโt say what for. We tried to say we already booked and paid as we felt the form was to to book a room
This has been happening before and has been mentioned in other reviews on here.
I also find it disgusting that there is a charge for parking

I stayed 1night and that was very plesant. My room was clean bed very firm and comfortable.
What I found a bit strange there was only 2 electrical outlets and they were at the table far away from the bed, if you put your phone to charge you had to get up to check.
