Hidden Humboldt Gem!
Had an excellent stay here! The rooms are spacious and well decorated, staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and its located right off highway 101 with easy access to all of Humboldt County. Great for those who appreciate historic hotels and vintage vibes. Extra great if you happen to love Twin Peaks/David Lynch—very those vibes.

What a cool hotel. Came in the off season, so it was quiet. Would love to stay when the bar and restaurant are open.

The property was beautiful and exceptionally clean. The amenities were excellent, and our room was incredibly spacious. The location was perfect—close to Ferndale and Highway 101—which was exactly what we needed.

Beautiful, great service.
Gorgeous hotel!!! The front desk staff were excellent and the lobby area was beautiful, the restaurant was closed but the “small bites” offered by the front desk were delicious and very reasonably priced. The room was very clean.
The only thing was that *every* flat surface in the rooms is wood….the nightstands, tables, console under the TV, floor…and sometimes drinks and ice buckets sweat, and there are no coasters or anything so there’s nowhere to set drinks that you don’t worry about damaging the beautiful wood accents. But other than that minor thing, highly recommend and would absolutely stay there again.

Wow, what a gem this place is! Absolutely gorgeous, friendly staff and great decor. It was nice to sip our coffee in the lovely lobby in the morning. Beautiful lawn covered in white flowers. Drove over to Fortuna for DELISH pizza at Paul's Live from NY. Fantastic pit stop on our NorCal drive!

The inn is located just a few miles North of Humboldt Woods - a great place to start from. The property was nicely refurbished in styles from the 1920's. Our stay was a nice change of pace from modern hotels. Everything was in perfect condition. We were disappointed that the restaurant and bar had been closed, but there are plenty of restaurants 15 minutes away by car.

There isn't a great amount to do in this historical locale, but a short drive puts you in the redwoods or to some dining options. The grocery store across the street makes great fresh sandwiches. The rooms are unique, quiet, and well appointed. There was a very nice sitting area just outside the door of our room. The staff persons were all nice, accommodating, we enjoyed our arrival refreshment. If you want to stay in a peaceful, historic building, this lodge woorks well.

Friendly staff and quick check in. Free drinks was great, but to get food was 7 miles away. The market across the street was already close when we got there. No table in the rooms to sit and eat. No counter in the bathroom for our toiletries. This hotel is over 100 years old. It’s different from our typical hotels.

The property was dated and did not match the advertised pictures. The price and “luxury” description was misleading considering the faded, quirky interior.

This is a really beautiful hotel, set in stunning scenery. The interior is really carefully thought out and designed for entertainment. Unfortunately it was very quiet during our stay (Tuesday-Thursday) so I hope it’s just because it was mid-week and early in the season.
The main disappointment was that there was no food offering in the hotel. The restaurant opens Friday and Saturday, but this isn’t made clear on the website. We had to go out for food, which was ok but after a long drive we had hoped we could just kick back in the hotel.
There is a grocery store opposite the hotel, which has a good deli counter and you can also buy hot coffee from there.
