6/10 Good

the 120 steps were a killer for young and old,,,,,, this is like an 8-story building with the steps made of rocks and concrete. thank GOD for JOE ,,,,,,,,,, for carrying our bags up and down. you plan your day to go down and not return until evening.

Friendly staff, nice views from the rooms. Clean. Basic breakfast. It’s at the quieter side of town away from the parties. We appreciated that.

4/10 Fair

The hotel was very loud and between the people upstairs, the motion light shining in the window every time someone approached, and someone trying to enter my room around 10 pm, I could not sleep. I did not feel safe. We booked 2 rooms but only used one because I felt unsafe being separated. They prepared a box breakfast for us but none of it was edible. There were a lot of bugs in our room as well. Lastly, there are far too many stairs up to the rooms.

Our family loved this place, the room has great view with a seat out area. Also room has windows all around. Very warm & friendly front desk, he was at the train station to walk us to the hotel, yes it is walkable distance :) Next day morning, we had breakfast on the rooftop, it has awesome view. Breakfast was good too.

It is near restaurants, transportation and shopping in Aguas Calliente but it is on the hillside so it s quiet. The steps to the hotel are tough after a long day of hiking.

The property is nice and clean. The hotel is located on the top of the hill, which means that you have to walk around 80 steps up to your room and the same 80 steps to go down. I would love to do more research in advance to avoid these extra steps. I love my trip to Manchu Pichu.

100 stone steps up!

Should begin by saying that we had to cancel our reservation upon arriving at the hotel. The description of the location said that the hotel was “100 STEPS” from the main plaza. The reality was that it was 100 STAIRS up from the plaza. Even though we traveled lightly, we had children and it was extremely hard to get to the hotel. And even then, you had to go up or down more stairs to get to your room. When we finally got to the room the bathroom floor was flooded. Local staff was very kind and helpful but owner had a bad attitude. Tried to minimize the situation. No denying that location looked nice. But be warned about difficulty for access. Not suitable for small children.

Beautifully natural, awesome view but long walk up

I highly anticipated this stay in Aguas Calientes. We came in late and needed to leave early for a Machu Picchu tour the next day and the hotel accommodated this beautifully, even allowing me to reenter my room and freshen up after the MP trip. I also get a complimentary pisco sour drink at the restaurant nearby. Walking distance to the church and the Pachacuti square, so it's convenient to everywhere without being in the streets where the tourists are. Very close to mercado and to the bus and train stop, so convenient. The only issue is that the hotel requires a long walk on steps up that resembles a mini Inka trail that I just went through during the day. Arriving at night, I had to slug my luggage up to this trek in the dark (the sensor lights only light up for a few seconds before it got dark again) up the zig zag steps before it reaches the hotel. The staff was available immediately after reaching them via Whatsapp though, and that is very commendable. The terrace for the breakfast opens up to the valley with great view over the rooftops of Aguas Calientes, which is the same view the balcony of my room opens up to.
It doesn't stop there, you still have to go right and left at the top before reaching the hotel.
Small respectable Aguas Calientes church at the square
Pachacuti square right at the bottom of the stairs

2/10 Poor

We did not end up staying at this hotel. They emailed to ask what time we were arriving on the train and said they would send someone to meet us - no one came. We messaged through Expedia that we were going to get dinner before check-in as our train was delayed - no one answered. We climbed the long staircase to the hotel - no one was in reception and the place looked abandoned. There was a number to whatsapp "Joe" - he didn't answer calls or texts. We left and found another hotel. Joe finally called and said he was available. We told him not to bother. Still trying to get a refund 4 days later - Expedia can't get hold of the hotel or Joe either! DO NOT STAY HERE!

2/10 Poor

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This was by far the the worst most disgusting place ever! My shower had 3 trickels of water coming out of the filthy dirty shower head and the shower was filthy... The room was infested with dead and live bugs everywhere! Bugs were falling from the ceiling and landing on me in my bed! I even saw a few bugs come out of a hole in the wall and the light socket... They tried to give us a bagged lunch for the next day and it was a sandwich consisting of 1 piece of smelly ham between 2 pieces of stale white bread. The banana that was included was rotten on the tip. I cant believe they would even serve that. We asked to be changed rooms because of the shower and bugs but the only staff there was apathetic and told us that it wasnt his really job and he wouldn't change us. We arrived late but it was so gross that We had to leave the room around Midnight, because the bugs were so bad, and search for a new hotel. Which we found and it was great!!! Might I recommend that place instead. Its called El Mapi.

The views were incredible. The space was quiet and the staff friendly. The hotel is near the square and only a 5 minute walk from the market/train/bus stations, but far enough away from the most active places to be calming. Be mindful of the hike up to the hotel! If you can pack extra light, do so. I was lucky to meet a couple of young men to help carry my suitcase up the flights of stairs and the hotel host carried it down for me when I left.

Yes. There are stairs. But once there it’s like a quiet sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Staff was great. Loved it.
Cathy, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

This property was noisy, you could hear everything the other guests were saying. The stairs to get there were out of this world. If I had known how many stairs I had to climb to get there, I definitely would not have booked here. The breakfast service was very good and so was the front desk. But because of the stairs, I would not go back and do not recommend it.

Very nice views and location. I advise to be in a good shape to go this hotel because is very high and you have to go up steep stairs.
