I’ve stayed at The Langham in London and expected the same standards here.
Sadly it disappointed. The hotel itself is lovely, but the service and attention to detail (with a coupe of exceptions in the bar) was underwhelming and, at times, absent.
I had billing errors, poor understanding of my very clear English requests, errors with room service, a very poor breakfast service in the restaurant, an inability to get the ‘legendary’ afternoon tea - apparently there is only one sitting and it has to be prebooked (which no one told me until I turned up at 3pm today to find no afternoon tea service), and there was no crème de cassis for the kir royale I ordered.
Genuinely underwhelming, disappointing and I am unlikely to return. Sydney has other hotels that are more on point these days.
