Our stay here wasn't so good. We arrived and got checked in to be told that the lift wasn't working. Normally this would be fine but my mum had an injured foot and there were no rooms that were easily accessible. We then got to our room and it wasn't what we had originally booked. When I went to ask for a room with 2 beds as we had booked I was told there wasn't any left and we had been given a bigger room so should be happy with it. After again explaining we booked a room with 2 beds because we needed 2 beds we were then given an extra room and was told we wouldn't be charged. However, the morning after, my card had tried to be charged for a second payment. The toaster didn't work for breakfast and my mum had to ask for it to be fixed a few times before someone came to look at it. The photos on the website didn't really match the hotel in person. We wouldn't come back here again.

DO NOT BOOK
PLEASE READ REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING.
I stayed for 2 nights in July 2025 and had paid for the Penthouse room. From looking at the photos at the time of booking the room appeared to have additional space, a living area with a sofa and dining table/chairs. There was also a photo of a very large shower and free standing bath. Be warned...these photos are to entice you in to booking these rooms but are very far from what this hotel has to offer.
On arrival i was told that my room was on the top floor, however the lift was out of use so i would have to walk. Not ideal but others would find those stairs very challenging. By the way the lift has been out of use for at least 7 months now.
When entering my room i was shocked to see how basic it was, there was no additional room, no sofa, do dining area. The bathroom was very small and you could not sit at the toilet due to the sink cupboard.
I did however have a free standing bath. The only issue was there was not only a missing plug, but the taps/pipes had also been removed. About as useful as a plane with no wings.
I complained to the hotel and explained that the photos are clearly of another room and misleading. They would not issue any compensation and were not apologetic what so ever.
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL, IT IS NOT VALUE FOR MONEY AND NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS SUGGEST.

Beautiful building and excellent staff
The building is beautiful. High ceilings and original fixtures make this a special place to stay. Located in a great location near to transport, shops, restaurants and bars. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Shannon and the other staff are friendly and efficient and made our stay enjoyable. Food was tasty in the restaurant. Breakfast in morning was good and again the staff serving were friendly. The room had everything we needed and a fantastic view of the town hall. Comfy bed with nice cotton bedding and a large flat screen TV. We would stay here again if we are in the area. Very good value for money.

Hot, pokey - will not be rebooking.
Booked an executive room, told it was on the 4th floor with no working lift. Accepted a standard room on the 1st floor which was hot, poky (windows would not open) and on top of that the room next door started a conference call at 4.30am. Didn't get a good night's sleep.

Potential, but easy mistakes and oversights
Well located hotel - everyone else has mentioned the broken lift so we won't go there, assuming there's a shortage of engineers in Bradford.
We were greeted by a receptionist who immediately walked off halfway through trying to check in - this was the first warning sign, although she was apologetic. The second apparently didn't understand our booking so we had to check in again in the morning; turns out it takes at least 3 receptionists to check in. The person in the morning was, however, very switched on and friendly.
The main issue was being placed in an adjoining room as a single person. Very odd decision as the walls are paper thin and it generally made me nervous as I felt like I was in the room with the people next door - you can hear everything. Thankfully a more helpful person on reception agreed to move me on realising this wasn't a sensible placement after listening to the evening squabbling of my neighbours and realising it wouldn't be a great night's sleep.
After that, the next room was fairly ok. Nice view, the bathroom is reasonably modern. Breakfast is certainly good. Adequate lodgings for a night or two.
Stay ended on another staffing faux pas however as Housekeeping walk in on you despite a do not disturb sign. So in summary - perhaps some training / common sense decisions, as well as a lift engineer...?
