Street parking can be difficult to find but honestly it wasn’t bad. This is right across from the police/beach safety pavilion. There are stairs so if you are disabled heads up. Would absolutely stay again.

Staff was extremely friendly. Made you feel at home. Room was spotless and bathroom extremely clean. Windows could have used maybe some extra window coverings. And it was quite stuffy definitely could use small air conditioner

Clean room (SMALL) ... Overlooking the ocean ... Slept with slider open listening to ocean waves (SO PEACEFUL!) ... 37 stairs to the 2nd floor ... Roku TV (Couldn't get the Yankee playoff game)

The Mayfair is a classic hotel. This is our second stay there. The hotel is well kept, the pool is well maintained, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. It is literally across the street from the beach. Finding street parking in Belmar in the summer can be a challenge. It would be nice if the window curtains blocked the sun or you will wake up at sunrise. It would help if the curtains didn't block the window A/C when they are closed, but we managed that with a few binder clips. Also, be aware the hotel has three guestroom floors above the lobby level, so be prepared to climb the stairs as there is no elevator. If you are looking for a nice, clean, safe place to stay at the beach, we recommend the Mayfair.

Lovely and quaint hotel. The folks were so gracious and friendly! A minor suggestion....the rooms needs a mirror!. I was in town for a wedding and wasnt able to "check my look"..lol.. otherwise, a highly recommended property.

Charming old-style hotel right by the beach. Big lobby area was nice to hang out in. (The rooms are small, as typical for the days of this hotel.)

I arrived to find my reserved room hotter than the outside temperature of 88 degrees. While I can appreciate not running the window unit to save energy, the door could have been propped open and a window opened to have created airflow. The first floor upon my arrival was actually cold. The rest of my stay was fine, not exceptional.

The Mayfair offers up Victorian charm with modern amenities. It’s a grand old lady of the shore. It was spotless, my room had a wonderful coastal vibe to it, and the view of the ocean from my window was magnificent! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the concierge/proprietor(?), Theresa, was awesome! So accommodating! This was my first time staying at the Mayfair since I lived at the Jersey shore for over 40 years. When I go back for a visit, I know where I’m staying!
