Everything was excellent, except for the location of our room. We loved being able to walk everywhere, including about two blocks to the the Harbor Land Bridge. Having free covered parking was a bonus. The complementary breakfasts were tasty. The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was very comfortable. We didn’t get to take advantage of it, but they also have a cocktail/music event each evening at their sister facility around the corner, which looked really fun. If you are a light sleeper, though, ask for a room on the back side of the hotel. We were in room 103, which is close to the lobby and on the front of the building, a sidewalk distance away from the street. The street sweepers come by twice every morning at about 4am. The delivery person arrives at about 6am, and we heard that person loading every bottle into the refrigerator. The street is fairly busy even late at night, and having a grocery store across the street doesn’t help. Motorcycles sat outside our window, idling. And, people would stand next to our window and talk (even very late), and we could every word of their conversation. Despite our room location, we would definitely recommend The Pathmaker to others!

Make this hotel your next stop in Bar Harbor!

Breakfast meals were extremely well presented along with choice and good taste. They staff were very hospitable, friendly and so helpful with all inquiries. Hotel clean as ever.

Great location with parking

Check in was very nice. The girl at the front desk was awesome! Parking was right underneath the hotel which made it very nice. I would not give the restaurant five stars for dinner. Menu was OK. Service was just OK. Tiramisu came frozen. Breakfast gets five stars. Breakfast is included with the room and it is a full menu with servers. Very nice!

Minimalist, Clean, and Friendly

This brand new hotel on the upper Main St. of Bar Harbor is clean as a whistle, comfortable, and minimalist in decor. Vintage photo prints line the halls, as a way of personalizing those spaces. The best part is the staff - warm, friendly, & wanting to keep you happy. Housekeeping can happen daily if you put out the door sign. Summer parking scarcity in Bar Harbor is solved by the Pathmaker’s attached garage underneath the building. Breakfasts are included in the fairly reasonable room rate. The hotel is diagonally across the street from a Hannaford’s supermarket - perfect for stocking up on lunch or hiking snacks. And it’s a 10-minute walk to the center of town, the green, shore path, and the beginning of the low tide path to Bar Island. My feeling is this is not a hotel to linger in; there’s no front porch, balconies, or lobby seating (exception of one easy chair). And my only caveat: If you have sensitivity to road noise, request a room on the back.

We had a great stay. Wonderful location, easy parking, great (free) made to order breakfast, friendly reception. Really could not ask for more if you want to be walkable to shops, restaurants in BH. Acadia entrance is very convenient as well.

Loved this place.

Absolutely spectacular place! This was a great find. Very clean, new, and well designed! Friendly staff, walk to every place you want to see in Bat Harbor. Easy and free parking on-property. Will try to book this place every trip back.
