Lovely hotel in an excellent area

If you're looking for a comfy bed and a/c in a good location then you can't go wrong with The Howard. Beds are comfy, a/c works brilliantly, shower has a good pressure, and there's a fridge int he room. Its a perfect base for getting out and exploring, with bus-stops nearby. Its also a 15min walk from Sliema Ferries for trips to Gozo/Comino/Valetta/Three Cities. Its a 5min walk from the nearest beach, and there's literally dozens of restaurants within walking distance. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they are a wealth of local knowledge - make sure you quiz them on local hotspots. Breakfast is simple but hot and tasty, and general room cleanliness is good.

Their standard room is a prison cell

The room resembled a prison cell, with small windows overlooking the back of the building, where the air conditioning and other equipment are located, and covered in immense amounts of dust. The room didn't seem clean; the bathroom had slimy, mouldy areas, and the towels and bed linens had probably been whitened a few years ago. And this is what they call a "standard" room.

Great value and super friendly

A lovely place to stay. Arrived late but the instructions about out-of-hours access to the room were both accurate and easy to follow. The newly refurbished room was extremely clean and comfortable, although generally the sound-proofing was inadequate - no problem for me but potentially troublesome for sober guests or those sensitive to church bells, chirpy European visitors and even chirpier construction workers. Breakfast was pleasant but a smidgeon over-priced; meanwhile the location was handy as well as conveniently serviced by local Bolt and Uber drivers. All the staff were super friendly - which seems to be a genetic trait of most if not all Maltese people. Overall, terrific value for money and highly recommended by this reviewer!

Overall a nice hotel but was noisy as could hear doors slamming alot and cleaners talking in the hallway early in the mornings. Be aware of using the wi fi as my email was hacked and the only wifi i used was at the hotel. Could be a coincidence but be careful.

Come Italiani devo dire che forse abbiamo degli standard un po' più altini. Si presenta come un "hotel" ma di hotel non ha nulla, non c'è un frigobar in camera, abbiamo alloggiato per 5 giorni e 4 notti e la camera non è stata rifatta una sola volta, pulizia molto basica. Finestra inulite perché affacciava letteralmente in un buco, siamo stati H24 con l'aria condizionata a palla. Il penultimo giorno, come gli altri, non ci era stato fatto nemmeno il letto e mancavano delle asciugamani, l'abbiamo riferito in reception che prontamente ci ha fornito le asciugamani ma per la mancanza di pulizia e servizio alla camera non ha fatto nemmeno un cenno. Purtroppo devo dire, ottima zona,sliema e stupenda e l'hotel è a 2 passi dal lungomare, ma se dovessi ritornare non andrei più in questa struttura. Una nota positiva I receptionist. Tutti carini, super disponibili e cordiali.
