Great stay!!

We loved staying at Aloft Tulum. Great hotel, wonderful, rooftop pool, and within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. I would not recommend setting up your airport shuttle through them though. They didn’t show up for our ride to come home and we had to call a taxi at 4 AM.

Great value for money. It’s located exactly midway from the beach and the city, you can walk or bike both ways. The rooms are clean and service is good. The rooftop pool and bar are good as well.

Great place, it’s the second time we stayed at this hotel. I love its perfectly located, the room is nice and comfortable, the staff is friendly and kind. Around the area there’s plenty of options to eat, I felt very safe walking around in the main street. Pool was nice, I like that they have two, one in the first floor and the other one in the roof top. Also if you plan on having trips, its perfectly located. All of our trips that we booked had no problems picking us up at the hotel reception.

We loved Aloft! Stayed here as a family for a week. Beautiful hotel with all the amenities we needed, including two nice pools and a gym. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the destination fee and free breakfast. For $20 a day, we got a daily free shuttle to the beach, $30 to spend on food, and enjoyed the complimentary trip to a gorgeous lagoon to snorkel. I would recommend this hotel to couple and families without hesitation.

Decent place, decent food, hard beds

Rooms were clean, food was good at the restaurant and the mocktails were good. Staff was friendly. Only had a slight issue with the taxes that hotels.com said were included, but the hotel said they weren't. They did end up removing the extra tax charges, but this should be addressed.

There is no quiet place in this hotel. Music is always so loud, even at night. The walls are paper thin, I can hear the conversation in the next room. Check out took too long. The clerk was on the phone for 5 minutes and did not help me. The breakfast is nice and the rooms are big. The gym is too hot. The food is affordable. The facility is nice but the music is very distracting

Nothing to dissapoint at this property. Everything is new and up to date. Staff is courteous. Plenty of space for self parking in the garage. Lots of areas for fun with friends. Jenga,uno,corn hole, pool table.

No issues with the hotel, and ALl the staff were truly awesome! Only thing that was bothersome, was the VERY LOUD music that played every single night from the rooftop bar/pool. We stayed on the 3rd floor, and the booming base from the electronic tunes from the rooftop pool was A LOT!! So if you’re a light sleeper, definitely bring earplugs!

The hotel was very nice and clean, comfortable room and good bed. The coffee in the room was not good, and it is in general not good in Tulum. Nice rooftop pool and gym. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was overpriced and not good. It was cheaper the order from the menu. But we started going to other places for breakfast such as Casa Sofia which was a few min walk from the hotel. A lot of roadwork and construction outside the hotel area and the area is developing. The sidewalks were being constructed and had wholes and pits. Great streetfood in Tulum and overall safe with lots of military and police patrols and security cameras. Good options available for guided tours to the Cenotes, Chichen Itza and Valladolid and cheaper tour options available outside the hotel. Taxi is very overpriced in Tulum and cheaper and easier to rent a bike.

It was difficult to navigate the amenities offered to me. I asked for assistance on the beach shuttle and i was told to scan a QR code. It did not work for me and the gentleman at the adventure desk told me thats the only way. He did not help me. The credit i was offered for food was to be used at breakfast or the WXYZ restaurant. You can only choose one during the day, that was not clear, and i was disappointed . They were housekeeping issues i will not elaborate.

Not what I expected!!

Not what I expected! Amenities are definitely exaggerated on the website. The pool on the first level looks like it hasn’t been touched in YEARS lol. As for the hotel…It’s in the middle of everything but still a drive to Tulum Beach. I was dissapointed with the destination fee especially since the services they offered weren’t accessible during my stay. For instance, the Saturday I was there the rooftop pool was closed for a majority of the day for a private party. The shuttles were only offered 2 times (10am-no one is up that early to go to a beach club) and it was only a one way. My phone didn’t work in my room and people were blasting music all weekend.

On our arrival we were told about a destination fee of 6,600 pesos which was an un welcome surprise. I complained to two women on the desk and they insisted it had to be paid. Then two days later I spoke to a man who said he just said no and they didn’t pursue it. He and I both agreed because I’m a woman they take advantage. So not happy with this disparity of enforcing the additional 600 hundred dollar charge. If I’d been younger I wouldn’t have had the money to cover that and it would ruin the holiday. Not to mention that we had to argue with staff at the roof top public that we were allowed to have two free beers and food to a certain amount since we had paid for the destination fee. Sometimes they would say we had used it when we hadn’t - actually had been out all day on an excursion- and then the front desk said no we don’t have it when we did. That was the worst part. The staff generally are lovely people and are just following orders. The best part was the breakfast which we had included and so happy we did so. Edgar, Alvaro were exceptional servers and really tried to accommodate our needs. The management has to improve this idea of a destination fee and then enforce it for all or remove it. It’s so confusing and unfair the way it is handled.
