* The water in the sinks and showers is NON-POTABLE. That’s right, you’re showering in water that is not safe to drink. And if you don’t want to brush your teeth with that water, you’ll have to pour bottled water over your toothbrush.

"This is a gorgeous property, conveniently located near the entrance to Big Bend National Park and the town of Terlingua. The A-frames are new, tasteful, clean, elegant and in pristine condition. The rooms were thoughtfully supplied, and given the hot day we were highly appreciative of little touches, like the pitcher of cold water in the refrigerator upon arrival. "The location of this motel was perfect for going to Big Bend National Park (on the west side, Maverick Junction entrance). It was clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated. The staff was friendly gave us a very helpful map of Terlingua. We highly recommend going into Terlingua Ghost Town. We liked the art gallery and trading post. Venga restaurant was excellent for coffee and breakfast (and has a lot of interesting art), and we recommend the Starlight Theatre Restaurant for dinner."

"John is the GM, we talked w him for a while up front. Super nice & very knowledgable of the Terlingua. My wife & I stayed in a double room. Bathroom, sink, 2 beds, tv. We didn't ever turn the TV on while we were there.
We loved our stay here. The location is perfect. John used a term, something to the effect of "Vintage hotel at affordable pricing" - that's exactly what it is. If you need a place to stay that won't break your bank, yet provide everything needed, Chisos is a wonderful place to stay! "

"Great location (less than 10 minutes from the gate of Big Bend National park, very convenient for those who want to go to the park after dark to do star gazing). Very convenient access and good facilities. Very clear communications from the host. If only the sofa bed wasn’t that squishy (which made my son sleep not very well), I would give it a perfect 5."

"Staff was able to help with late check-in and then when we had to leave a day early was very accommodating. It is a long way down the road to get to it but worth it. Rooms are nice (small fridge ONLY) but sitting underneath the mountains is nice. Bad Rabbit Cafe is right there and can get you anything you need if you're hungry. We had a great time and would stay here again. You can stay in Terlingua in the motels but you won't get the same experience."
