My recent stay at Sunset Caribe in San Pedro, Belize (May 22-27, 2025) revealed a property with significant potential marred by serious shortcomings in customer service and operational efficiency. While the accommodations themselves are attractive and worth considering for purchase, the experience was significantly hampered by unprofessional staff interactions and administrative errors.
The most pressing issue involved the front desk and reservations staff. Mishandled reservations, including the unauthorized addition of flights to my booking, and a delayed, dubious email response highlight a lack of professionalism and attention to detail. The subsequent rushed, pre-payment-demanding follow-up call further exacerbated this negative impression. The initial room assignment, failing to meet my pre-booked poolside requirements, and the two-hour delay in resolving this issue further demonstrated a systemic problem with responsiveness and customer satisfaction. Pool bar staff also exhibited a noticeable lack of friendliness.
While manager Savoy's gesture of a complimentary bottle of Moรซt and a Rain restaurant certificate was appreciated, it didn't fully compensate for the considerable inconvenience and frustration experienced. Conversations with other owners revealed similar concerns about staff interactions, suggesting this is a widespread issue requiring immediate attention.
Positive aspects of the stay included the quality of the rooms themselves and the excellent service provid
