We stayed two nights at One&Only Desaru Coast with our baby. The resort anticipated all our needs with a cot, changing table, sterilizer and bottle warmer. The room and food were impeccable. However, we were rather disappointed by the patchy service during breakfast. For two mornings, we had our orders forgotten. For the first morning’s order we had to ask twice before we were served. In the second breakfast our ordered dishes didn’t even come, and we gave up asking. Simple requests like baby cutlery and tissue paper took 10 minutes to arrive. For all the great service elsewhere in the resort, the breakfast service was just simply not up to standards for a resort of this calibre. All in all it could have been a perfect experience if not for the frustrating experience at breakfast.

For one of the most expensive resort in Desaru, everything should be ready even with no reservations. High tea at 3-5pm and when I requested for high tea at 4:45pm the server rejected the request saying they have finished serving high tea. Quite a shame for a luxury hotel. Been to others luxurious resorts and never get this kind of request turned down.

We had no idea what to expect as we booked last minute without doing any research nor looking at pictures. Also the name, One & Only Desaru, is somewhat non-descript, it doesn't evoke much... This is a 5-star resort, an oasis secluded from the world, large luxurious villas, private beaches and all -- and also, I guess, from paparazzis! That kind of a place. Top, top, top. Will return for sure.

全体的にとても良かったです。とても静かで、大人のリゾートホテルな感じでした。スタッフの方々も私達の姿を見ると声をかけて下さり、そう言う点もとても良かったです。ただ、一つ残念なことがありました。それは、朝のビュッフェにて、野菜（サラダ類）が全くなかったことです。これさえあれば満点だったと思います。

Ein Ort zum Geniessen

Top Hotel an sehr schöner Location. Grosser Sandstrand aber steinig in Küstennähe. Die Zimmer mit kleinem privaten Pool sind super. Morgenessen mit grosser Auswahl und top Qualität. Abendessen mit limitierter Auswahl und auf der teureren Seite. Aber der Küchenchef ist offen für individuelle Wünsche. Wer Privacy geniessen will ist hier am richtigen Ort. Zusätzlich gibt es zwei schöne Golfplätze in der Nähe.

Great property - great people

Amazing property with some fantastic people and overall very good service. The engaged and present management team does a great job helping people grow, where necessary. Both restaurants are good, delivering on service, food and ambience. Personally I would like to see Hoshi deliver “a bit more”, move from good to outstanding, also to match the price tag. Looking forward to seeing the development over time.

Had a memorable 3D2N stay with my family in One&Only. The room is well equipped with everything you would need for a perfect staycation; a spacious bathroom, bath bomb for a relaxing soaking, tea in a variety choices and Nespresso coffee machine. Balcony with a long couch is a plus for family chilling session. A short walking to the private beach where you could enjoy the sunrise. The Resort Manager, Mr Rahman is attentive and graceful in accepting feedback. Definitely will come back for another stay.

Overall a great stay and experience.

The resort is nice but the food at the hotel is overpriced for example a plate of chicken rice will cost you about RM115. Overall the experience is nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. In addition, the sports club facilities ie tennis and other varieties of sports are excellent. But during this monsoon period ie in December, there’s nothing much you can do at the beach. So try to avoid this period if you can.

This happens to be the 4th One&Only resort that I’ve stayed at; therefore there are certain expectations are required to be met. This is an excellent 5 Star Resort without any doubt but hasn’t quite succeeded in living up to the One&Only brand, unfortunately. Parking my vehicle was not an issue but lugging my baggage up a flight of stairs from the carpark to the lobby without any help was not very pleasant. I was only brought to my villa for check-in after I waiting in the lobby from 3.15pm to 4.15pm. Even then, I had to make a fuss before one of the staff attended to me. I was flabbergasted that coffee and tea was served without a sugar bowl or a milk jug during breakfast. I had to remind a member of the staff and by the time the milk and sugar arrived, I was about to finish my breakfast. Great attention to detail when it comes to amenities and presentation and I wouldn’t expect any less from The One&Only must say that all the staff are very well mannered, polite and helpful

Rooms, Amenities were excellent. However staff attentiveness and service were below par. Buggy service and butler service was really disappointing. Wanted to organize a private dinner with family and friends, however the staff was not accommodative at all. Overall good property and amnesties, staff need to be retrained.

Not worth the priced charged

Their frontliner is trying but for the price that is charged I’m expecting the hotel to be excellent and not mediocre. The most unpleasant about the stay is the double standard of the higher management treatment to guests. Am I just not worthy enough that the gm is not bothered about my complain that he doesn’t wanna meet us as the staff claimed he’s busy but I saw him sending off all the famous second and third generation of the rich of Malaysians that’s visiting??’ Do note your other patrons are equally as important and should be treated EQUALLY! Other problem with the hotels which I wanted to highlight to the management : 1) My room is not ready on the day I checked in until 5.30 pm! 2) The bathtub is literally black and stained like it’s not wash. 3) the fruit provided in my room is rotten! 4) breakfast is slow but the staff keeps coming back to asked us what else they can get for us... all we need is our food! 5) requested to checked out and have our afternoon tea earlier than 1 pm but the buggy did not arrive until it’s 1 still and we are not being informed. 6) booked a massage and we din go but nobody actually call for reminder or to check out 7) took a kettle chip but the staff did not notice upon checking and we have to inform them instead The hotel and environment is so beautiful and serene but such a waste with the operation and management now. The management really need to step up!
