"I have been to Summer Lodge in the past but only to the dog-friendly whiskey bar for pre-prandials before the main course at the dog-friendly Acorn Inn (luscious dinner) over the road (which is part of the same hotel group). This visit was with my fairy godmother, as a treat / R&R after a particularly hard time for both of us. It was absolutely just what the doctor ordered. The understated

"Exceptional stay. Room was spacious and decor was to a very high standard. Very clean and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice of hot and cold food. Quiet location and would highly recommend. "

"B & B in a beautiful setting, perfect location for the coast and New Forest. Attractive building and gardens with swimming pool. Really good breakfast selection with homemade preserves. Just felt some of the attention to detail was lacking. The area around our room was tired, the patio slabs looked like they needed a good clean and the door lock seemed very flimsy, the 2 armchairs weren’t that clean. "Sunday dinner was excellent, fish perfectly cooked and well presented, chicken tender and succulent with veg and a huge Yorkshire pudding. Desserts sumptuos, all washef down with decent Pinot and Armagnac. Penthouse accomidation is worth the premium for glorious views east and west, space, kingsize bed and bathrooms as well as formal dining space.
Service from each and all staff was impeccable."

"We (with my two boys 9&7) stayed at Gloucester House for two nights. I don’t normally leave reviews but in this case with Jonathan and his staff being just fantastic I needed to.
When we arrived Jonathan and his wife greeted us at the front door and welcomed us in. The location is perfect and right across from the beach front which my boys loved! The hotel was exceptionally clean and well presented and you could tell that this isn’t just a business but a real passion!
